Foreign visitors are expected in Morocco as the government accelerates campaigns to meet its 2020 tourism revenue target of MAD140 billion ($1.4 billion).

In 2017, 10.3 million tourists visited Morocco, almost similar to the number of visitors the emirate of Dubai received.

Int’t hotel groups expand across Morocco:

Hilton opened its third property in Morocco.

The Oberoi Group set to open hotel property in Marrakech.

Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech was opened in mid-2019.

Followng the addition last year in Morocco of three new hotels in Tangier, Agadir and Casablanca, the Barceló Hotel Group has purchased the Barceló Palmeraie for €35 million, as well as land for a future property.

Royal Air Maroc will start flying to Beijing’s new Daxing International Airport from January 2020 onwards. Royal Air Maroc is also expected to join the oneworld alliance in 2020.
